Yellow Twig Dogwood
The Yellow Twig Dogwood displays bright yellow stems on the younger growth of this many-stemmed bushy shrub. The yellow colors are striking during winter. These Yellow Twig Dogwoods provide a good contrast against any Red-twig with its yellow fall color. The foliage is medium to dark green in summer, followed by purplish fall color. The twigs are green in summer, but turn bright clear yellow in fall and are quite conspicuous in winter, especially if planted in groups with one of the red twigged dogwoods.

The Yellow Twig Dogwood can be pruned and the pruned twigs invariably die back to the next bud and turn black from there to the pruned end of the twig, leaving ugly black ends on bright yellow twigs. Prune with care; remove branches or twigs only at the ground line.

White fruit follows the white, star-shaped flowers of the Yellow Twig Dogwood. The Yellow Twig Dogwood is loved for the bright yellow color of its twigs and branches. These shrubby trees develop great clumps that are showstoppers in the snow. The Yellow Twig Dogwood is very colorful after its autumn leaves fall. The deep red leaf color is also attractive in the fall kaleidoscope of colors

It is commonly used as a screen but can also be used as a specimen shrub. The Yellow Twig Dogwood tolerates wet soils and can be grown in full sun or part shade. Deep red leaf color in fall followed by orange red bare stems in winter provide year round interest.
